We offer modern and engaging Italian language classes. Our friendly team will also help you to discover the “authentic Catania” that only the locals know.

Our method

Our school is inspired by the court of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor. During his reign, he promoted of a community full of mutual respect and tolerance between different cultures, unified by the Italian vernacular and dedication to art and creativity.
We wish to recreate the atmosphere of this court, full of cultural and recreational moments, by giving you the opportunity to know better our culture and improve your Italian as well. You will develop the ability to communicate in Italian and practice actively the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Our teachers

Marion

Marion, born in Catania, studied Greek and Latin, art, and languages. She speaks Russian, English, and French, and has a background in the humanities and international studies.

Federica

Born in Catania, Federica studied European Languages, lived in Spain teaching Italian, and now promotes Italian language and culture through Federico II in Sicily.

Giulia

Giulia, with a background in philosophy and languages, teaches Italian L2. She loves books, cooking, swimming in the sea, and hiking on Etna.

Andreja Rajcic

I spent one week at the school and I'm sorry it had to be so short. I had some basic knowledge of the Italian language, but I learned a lot during this week and also had a great time in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. We learned through everyday life situations, talked a lot and worked on weak points. Federica is a wonderful, patient and dedicated teacher who transfers her knowledge with a lot of enthusiasm. I also met nice people from all over the world, and besides spending a week in beautiful Catania, I managed to visit a few other beautiful places and fall in love with Sicily. Thanks also to teachers Giulia and Melania, the whole team is very nice and the atmosphere at the school is very relaxed and positive. I'm sure I'll be back, I hope soon. Grazie mille! Andreja

I spent about 2-3 months studying Italian at this school, and it was such a lovely experience. From the first day, I felt really welcomed, which made settling in much easier. The teachers are great, patient, encouraging, and clearly love what they do. Classes feel relaxed but still very productive, and I noticed my progress much faster than I expected. What I liked most was the atmosphere. It’s friendly and easygoing, so you don’t feel nervous about speaking or making mistakes. It just feels like a good place to learn. I look back on that time very fondly and I’m really grateful for everything I learned, both the language and a bit of the culture too. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about learning Italian.

I took a B1 Italian class for two weeks with Federica and really enjoyed it. She’s super patient, easy to understand, and makes the class feel comfortable. The lessons were focused a lot on speaking, which I liked because it helped me build confidence quickly. She also made sure everyone was keeping up and explained things in a simple way. We also did a fun activity each week, which made the experience even better and helped us practice in a more real-life setting. I definitely feel like I improved in just two weeks. Would 100% recommend the school if you’re trying to get better at Italian.

Man känner sig hemma i skolan på en gång, det är en väldigt härlig och familjär stämning med duktiga pedagogiska lärare som känner av gruppen och anpassar sig till alla sorters studenter från alla världens hörn. Jag har varit här två gånger och kommer gärna tillbaka igen. Den kulturella aktiviteten som skolan bjuder på en gång i veckan gör också att man får lära sig mer om Italien/Sicilien/Catania och kulturen bortanför språket, det är också ett väldigt bra tillfälle att träffa studenter från andra grupper än ens egen.

Venlige undervisere. Skolen er meget slidt. Vælg denne skole, hvis du ønsker meget traditionel undervisning. Jeg havde købt 20 timers undervisning på en uge, men de sidste to lektioner hver dag fik jeg ikke meget ud af. Rejste videre til The Italian Academy i Siracusa, som jeg VARMT kan anbefale.

J’ai suivi les cours à l’école d’octobre à décembre avec Federica et je recommande à 100% cette école. Nous sommes en classe avec un petit nombre d’élève, ce qui permet d’interagir facilement avec tout le monde et d’être à l’aise. La professeure et très gentille, patiente et pédagogue, elle conseille les élèves au-delà des cours sur la vie à Catane et les problèmes auxquels on pourrait faire face. C’était un réel plaisir d’aller en cours tout les matins. L’école est situé dans un très bon quartier de Catane. Le plus important est que mon niveau d’italien a nettement progressé en seulement quelques semaines. Tout les italiens que je rencontre sont très surpris du niveau de langue que j’ai pu acquérir en si peu de temps grâce à l’école.

La mia experiencia in Federico ll e estata indimenticabile. I primi giorni sono arrivato senza sapere niente di italiano, peró con l'aiuto di professori eccezionali ho pututo imparare senza nessun problema. Ringrazio alla scuola per avermi presentato con tanta gente incredibile e speciale che oggi ho nel mio cuore. I studied at Federico II for two weeks and really enjoyed it. I had both private lessons with Julia and conversational group classes with Federica, both teachers were fantastic, they were thorough, knew how to clearly explain the quite complicated Italian grammar and ensure you were having fun doing so. Die Schule Federico II ist meiner Meinung nach die beste Sprachschule! Ich habe schon mehrere Kurse dort belegt und bin jedes Mal begeistert. Die Lehrerinnen sind auch sehr kompetent, geduldig, freundlich und unterstützen einen, egal worum es sich handelt. Durch Marion habe ich einen unglaublich guten Zugang zu der Sprache gefunden und auch zu Sizilien. Alle Lehrerinnen sind perfekt um die italienische Sprache zu vermitteln. Mittlerweile ist die Schule für mich fast schon ein Zuhause, und ich freue mich jedes Mal, wenn ich dort bin. Ich kann sie nur empfehlen ❤️
